January 2004
Hello and happy New Year. Here are a few updates.
First off: Man of Sin, Varnaline, A Shot and a Beer, and Sweet Life, are all back in print on my own label, Cloud Records. The self-titled record has been completely repackaged, in glorious Spinal-Tap black, and the rest have been slightly tweaked. They aren’t in stores yet, but you can buy them here now.
Second: The new record is close to being done. The recording stage is finished and we’re in the process of trying to find a home for it. We’re aiming for a spring or early summer release.
Third: For those of you across the pond, I’ll be playing a few shows with South San Gabriel in Europe next week. We did a handful of shows down in Texas last week, which were great. Thanks to everyone who came out and saw those shows.
Ok, that’s it for now. Take care.
Cheers,
Anders

Brooklyn, NY
Well, after a long wait I’m hard at work on a new record. My deal with Artemis Records and E-Squared/Steve Earle is no longer. It was fun while it lasted, but after spending the past year sitting on my ass waiting to record I was ready to say goodbye to them and call it even, which is what I did. Jud Ehrbar (Drums -- Varnaline, Space Needle, Reservoir) and I recorded basic tracks here in Brooklyn with our old friend Adam “Red” Lasus at his Fireproof Studio. I’m heading to the wilds of NY to do some overdubs soon and then down to Raleigh to get a little help from some friends down there. This one will be my first “solo” record. I’m hoping to have the thing all wrapped up by the end of September and release it sometime early next year. Colonel Bob Andrews (www.undertowmusic.com) is working on finding a good home for the record. We’ll keep you posted on that situation.
In other news I’m doing a few shows this month. The first will be down at King’s (www.kingsbarcade.com) in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday September 12. On the 24th I’ll be playing at Fez (www.feznyc.com) in NYC with my friend Dave Derby (www.davederby.com) (formerly of The Dambuilders & Brilliantine) who is releasing his new record this month. There are a few other shows in the works for the fall and early winter. Check back here for more info.
Web-Captain John Cole is working on a few website updates. He re-posted the message board and worked out the kinks on the contact page. We were having problems with all that damn spam, but now it seems that it’s all cleared up. So, if you’ve questions, comments, etc… you should be able to get through to one of us now. We’re also hoping to post some more unreleased music and video soon.
When you get a chance hit this link www.redpandarecords.com and check out Red Panda Records. It’s a new record label run by Kendall Meade of Mascott. Her new record, “Dreamer’s Book” is coming out next year and it will be Red Panda’s first release. The record’s great and I expect good things for and from the label.
Speaking of new releases, friends Centro-Matic (www.centro-matic.com) just released their new record, “Love You Just The Same”. Yours truly was down in pastoral Argyle, Texas last fall helping out with the production. They’ve got a hot little number there on disc. Do yourself a favor and go out and buy the thing. I think they’re touring this fall, so you should be able to catch them in a town near you. Ask them about Greenbay football if you’ve got a couple of hours…
Well, that’s about it for now.
Take care,
